Come Home to Congregation Emeth

building2-webWe are a warm and inclusive Reform congregation located in Morgan Hill and serving southern Santa Clara County, California.

We engage in lifelong learning, worship, social action, and community, while celebrating Judaic spiritual and cultural traditions.

We are dedicated to nurturing the spiritual, intellectual, and social needs of all individuals and families seeking a meaningful Jewish connection in Gilroy, Morgan Hill, south San Jose and the surrounding communities. Join us as we grow together, creating and maintaining a vibrant Jewish presence in the South Valley.

Let Torah be a way of life, and welcome every person as a friend.

–Pirke Avot (The Ethics of the Fathers), 1:15

Come join us for our annual, family-friendly congregational Seder on the second evening of Passover!

Standing With Israel

We are all outraged and devastated by the attack on Israel that began on October 6th.  We will stand together with Israel, come together as a community to support one another, and continue to pray for the people and country of Israel. Am Yisrael Chai.

Shanghai Event, Feb 5Shanghai: Holocaust Port of Refuge

Presentation, Discussion & Reception

On February 5th, Emeth hosted an event for the community to learn about the largely unknown story of the more than 20,000 stateless Jewish refugees that fled Nazi occupied Austria, Germany and Poland for Shanghai, China between 1933 and 1941.

We were joined by the curators of Holocaust Museum LA’s recent exhibition, “Hidden History: Recounting the Shanghai Jewish Story,” Jordanna Gessler, Vice President of Education and Exhibits, and Christie Jovanovic, Curator of Collections, and were able to meet Bay Area residents with connections to this piece of history, including a 95-year old Shanghai survivor and special guest speaker former Congresswoman Jackie Speier.

The recording of the event is now available.

Read the Morgan Hill Life article about the event.

Harnessing the Power of our Mothers Around the Seder Table

Harnessing the Power of our Mothers Around the Seder Table jemerman

We have so much to learn from our mothers, past and present. Soon, we'll return to the story of Passover and to the narratives of three remarkable mothers whose determination, fearlessness, and love changed the course of biblical history.

Passover 2024: The Three Central Messages of Pesach

Passover 2024: The Three Central Messages of Pesach jemerman

The Exodus story is the master narrative of the Jewish people. As most of us know, it tells the story of the Hebrew slaves in Egypt and the rise of Moses as their liberator. It reminds us that in 2024, the universality of Passover's three-part message again reverberates through the generations: freedom, love, and justice.
